There are 67 villas and suites available to guests, each one offering a level of comfort and luxury that is hard to find elsewhere. Ocean pool and over-water bungalows have been created to blend into the surroundings while providing home-from-home comforts and a high degree of privacy. Each bungalow has been designed with hardwood flooring and décor inspired by the island and ocean.

Fine linen bedding and air conditioning ensure a good night’s sleep even on the warmest of nights, and the mini bar contains a selection of refreshing drinks. Every bungalow offers its occupants unobstructed views of the jewel-blue water and undulating waves through floor-to-ceiling glass doors, and this view can also be experienced from a private veranda. Other features include high-speed internet access, flat-screen TV and DVD player, and tea and coffee making facilities.

Anantara Veli shares dining venues with its sister resort Anantara Dhigu, providing guests with a vast choice of menus and food choices.

•Baan Huraa – This over-water restaurant serves what is described as the finest Thai cuisine in the Maldives. Dishes include coconut curries from Thailand’s southern provinces and spicy food from the north.

73 Degrees – This attractive venue serves buffet breakfast, then by night offers cuisine themed dinners from all over the world.

Origami – Casual, yet modern, the Origami restaurant serves Japanese cuisine with a difference. The light gourmet menu offers sushi and sashimi, along with charcoal grilled robatayaki, while the teppanyaki cooking station presents griddle and pan-fried delicacies.

•Dhoni – Serving light lunches and snacks, this poolside location is a favourite spot for relaxing or socialising.

•Fushi Café –Fushi Café looks over the lagoon and is the perfect place for enjoying a leisurely breakfast from the buffet. In the evening it becomes a lively dining venue, serving cuisine from countries such as Italy and Japan.

•Sea. Fire. Salt. – Fusion grilled steaks and freshly caught seafood feature on the Sea. Fire. Salt. menu. These can be oven-cooked, flame-grilled or wok-sautéed, and then creatively flavoured from one of the large selection of salts.

•Terrazzo – This intimate venue overlooks the lagoon and features a menu of Italian signature dishes such as risotto and homemade pasta.

Aqua – Light lunches and snacks are available at the poolside Aqua Bar.
